Dive Master Traineeship

This program can take as little as a month full time or around 3 - 4 months on a part time basis on weekends.

Traineeship structure is as follows:

  • Open Water Course (4 course dives plus 2 fun dives)

  • Advanced Open Water Course (5 dives include deep, navigation, wreck, naturalist and night)

  • Senior First Aid or equivalent.

  • Oxygen administration

  • Rescue diver (including 5 training dives)
  • Dive Master Program (you will complete a minimum of 7 logged dives)
  • Equipment specialty qualification

This program may commence on a part time basis at any time and programs can be scheduled to fit your individual timetables. You would simply join the next advanced program that suits your schedule.

Full time dive master traineeships run over 5 to 6 weeks (and normally includes one on one contact study days).

Divers who already have completed the open water or advanced program will have the Wreck or same value specialty course substituted in lieu of the open water or advanced.

Not included...

Scuba equipment is not included and it is expected that Dive masters will invest in their own good quality dive equipment as opposed to hiring it.  It makes sense to be training in the equipment you will be working and diving in! Trainees can either receive a substantial discount on the purchase of their own dive gear or hire for the duration at $500 for all courses.

This is payable on commencement of the Advanced Diver program. Note...no hire gear available on snorkelling items or accessories like torches.

A PADI Crew Pack is included with the Advanced and Rescue Diver program and the Dive Master manual for the DM course.

Also required...

A dive clearance (AS2299 medical).  PADI Membership on completion of your program. No insurance cover is available during your training so we recommend you investigate a personal accident policy.
